How about K-mart? They have lay-a-way there, and since your not to far along you could have everything paid off by the time baby's born.I've boughten about half new and half used at them consignment stores and yard sales. Since this is our last baby I see no need in buying everything new.
I lucked up on a gently used travel system for $60 bucks that I saw on a fb page thats for selling, wanted, or free in my area!!! Those pages really do come in handy! The cheapest new one I could find was for $129 at Wal-Mart!
I never went by the safety standards with my crib. I like the older style vintage look. It has a drop side very pretty... my favorite was like the brown lines but mine was cream colored. I got rid of it for one of the new drop sides that convert to toddler bed because I was not pregnant and my one year old was needing a toddler bed... now I am stuck with this as my crib... buy less because it is so expensive... swing, jumparoo, car seat and Stroller... buy a convertible because they last from birth till they need a booster... skip the bouncer and baby tub and other things you don't have to have. I bathe my babies in kitchen sink even when I had a baby tub because it was easier. Look into the things you really have to have. Don't just buy stuff because you want or like it. You will spend way too much for stuff you get very little use out of and resale on baby items are not very good. I spent 30.00 on a bouncer, used it for a month and a half and sold it for 5.00. It is also better to buy used, look on line on your local classifieds and thrift stores. A lot of time you get almost new stuff for a third or fourth of the price. Shop around some people are asking almost full price because they did not use it much.
I got alot of my stuff clearenced at walmart. Look around at those. I saved a small fortune on my stuff.
I used a LOT of second hand items. Honestly, there's no reason not to. Most items are designed for easy cleaning-so no issue there. I got my son's walker, bouncer, clothes (a good amount) , swing, and toys all used....all in immaculate condition. I personally love it! I have a top of the line carseat for him...retailed for $279 ...I paid $40 from a wealthy couple who didn't need it. It was in beautiful shape, in date...and just a no-brainer purchase.
I dont know where u r from but if you have any swap n shop groups on Facebook that are close to your town they are amazing for baby stuff. I baby sites on swap n shop are like online garage sales.
Walmart. Shop online and have it shipped to your local walmart, you pick up there and dont have to pay for shipping. Make sure to look for coupon codes to!
Craigslist is a good place to look if you want to save money. Thrift stores are also a good way to go.
Just remember that you never want to buy a second hand car seat because they expire and you don't know whether or not it's been in an accident. Also you shouldn't buy a used crib because as of 2011/2012 safety standards have changed. Other than that you can get great deals on second hand stuff.
All my stuff I have is not new.. except what ever I get at the baby shower and her crib and changing table his parents want to buy it.
second hand and check out Wal-Mart online. way more of a variety.
2nd hand stores.. new to gently used.. garage sales.. hubby found a barely touched high chair on his was home from this morning. $20 handful of new/barely used receiving blankets & burp clothes .50 cents each
I got a lot second hand. It is way to expensive
Ill agree with you on its expensive, but I have found second hand stores or consignment stores are amazing. I am having my second and my son now is almost 5. I had nothing. But those stores seem to be the best places to find nice things.
