Haha. I assumed butterfly meant baby since they feel like butterflies in our bellies. So you really never know. Glad you got an answer.

I have never heard the term butterfly used.... But i still got your point and knew what you meant once I read your entire post.  No need to tell this girl tons of times to use correct terminology.  I don't see how anyone could not guess what she was referring to

Im 29 weeks & I'm sooo uncomfortable!! I'm carrying my son quite low & its causing discomfort wen I sit down, try to bend, put on tights. The only time im ok is wen im lying down on my side but it seems my boy doesn't like this position cos he kicks the hell out of me lol. Recently I've started to feel soo much pressure that I constantly want to go to the toilet.

Ha! I like box or snatch just to get a laugh. Yes growing up in a conservative family I don't care to say vagina. We teach our daughter privates, which helps keep in mind that it is a very private area. I'm 22 weeks and I feel that way just recently. Usually after standing/walking around all day.

I like the term butterfly.  If u think about, it makes perfect sense why a vagina would be called that

^^lol i know i talk about hormones. I do get really defensive & really  fast but thats only if i feel like im being talked down too. Or if somebody just comes off rude. There's no need for it. All they have to do is ask

Holy buckets!!! Everybody has their hormones in a knot up in here!!!!! Calm down ladies! :) Just for future reference, I've personally heard box, beaver, butterfly, kitty cat, honey hole, other not so nice words so I kinda figured what she meant and now you guys figure it out too if another poster has an issue with the correct terminology. I don't know why some prefer to not use the exact words but it's their choice. Even a doctor would've figured it out eventually that she meant vagina when she said butterfly. Now, I'm gonna eat my butterfinger since I feel that this is enough vagina slang for me today. ;)

Is definitely your choice. I'm a nurse too and have never heard it called a butterfly either. I'll agree it's a bit easier to help if we know what you mean. But everyone has their comfort level with words. Glad you got your answer mama:)

I told my dr it feels like the baby is going to fall out every time I use the toilet and he just shook his head and said the baby is not going to fall out. So it must be a common complaint towards the end.

The ultrasound technician who determined the gender of our baby referred to ut as a "shiny." My husband was like, what's a shiny? I was like. It's her vaginal honey, the thing boys are going to try to climb into in 18 years. He got all red and was like "I'll kill them!" I told him he deserves to deal with her boy friends for being such a who*e when he was a teen. It was completely hilarious,  I had to share.

You could start to feel alot of pressure as you get further along the baby is moving down as they assure preparing for birth. I had so much pressure with my second one from about 26 weeks on that it felt like my son broke my pelvic bone. When I stood to shower or when I would lift a leg to shave my bone burned and there was so much pressure as I said it felt like my bone was broke. Good luck. Try n take a warm bath.

Ahhhh. Yeah I carried my son really low, and in the end the pressure was so strong I was sure he was going to fall out lol. Totally uncomfortable.  I'm only 17 weeks now, but remembering why I swore off having more children the first time around lol.

I'm not trying to be part of an argument, so please do not take this the wrong way.
this is my fourth pregnancy (one miscarriage, currently 33+3 with twins) and I teach prenatal development of mom and baby as well as parenting classes. I also do not know what you mean when you say butterfly.
just as with the doctor's office, the best way to get an answer that properly answers your question is to be upfront and give as much detail and information as possible.
I will try to answer medical questions as best I can, but I need more clarification here. I may just be out of the loop as I don't use euphemisms and there may be plenty of other women who do understand, but that isn't even one I could make a guess about. sorry.

I have to support asking what she means by butterfly. Its pretty hard to give someone a response when you can't figure out what they mean.
