feeling overwhelmed

Hi Ladies, I have really bad hyperemisis (chronic nausea and vomiting). Nothing helps and I know it'll last the whole pregnancy like w daughter.  On top of that I woke up Saturday feeling like I was hit by a mack truck. Coughing, chest pains,  fever, sweats, chills, awful body aches and migraine.  Probably caught the flu from one of my icky students :(

Trying not to have a pity party but im soon tired of being sick. Feels like it'll never end. Cant take care of daughter. Feel like a terrible mother. September feels like a life time away. Im throwing up every time I cough or sneeze.  Cant keep anything down. Already lost 20+ pounds. Tired of going to hospital. Cant afford to go on bed rest. Totally overwhelmed and depressed :( Any advice?

I am/was in the same boat. I was sick just about my whole pregnancy with my daughter with hg. I am pregnant with my 2nd and still have my pic line and it does help. I was in and out the hospital on phenegran, compazine and reglan and now I have gotten to a point where I can finally eat.  I am taking z ofran now (which did nothing in my first preg) but it is helping now along with my protonix for acid reflux. I know it is hard. I got so low with this pregnancy due to being so sick.  I dont know what to tell you to try other than meds and ice for now. I know you prob know not to try and rush to eat. My doc had me taking one bite of food for about a week with the tpn and it helped also. I wish you the best. We are here for you and know exactly what you are going through. I've been on tpn for two months and I am ready for it to be out so I can take care of my daughter. I had to sit mine down and explain exactly why mummy cant play or get out of bed. I wish you didn't have to work for a bit you need rest. Dont let depression get you... find some music you love and power up every morning. Best wishes mama

Have you spoken to your doctor about a PICC line?  I have one because of hyperemesis and I am so glad that I got it!  I am finally over the hump and waiting for the okay to have it removed.  I couldn't take care of my kids either so grandparents helped me.  I got fired from my job as well because I couldn't even move my head without vomiting. The PICC line gives me hydration that helps fight nausea and I get a vitamin bag at the moment for all my b vitamins and folic acid. I also take all medicine through an IV as well. They ordered a tpn bag for me which is complete nutrition but thank God I started to be to eat.  You have options,  you do not have to suffer.  Prayers for you.
