I have shared my experience of gestational diabetes with some of you.  I just got back from the doctor and he is inducing me at 38 weeks and 1 day because my glyburide isn't working,  im swelling,  and my bp is a little elevated.   He said he feels waiting any longer could be potentially dangerous for the baby.  I am 2 cm dialated and 60% effaced.  That makes me very favorable for a vaginal delivery.   They estimate her weight to be about 7.5 lbs.  Just praying her lungs are fully developed because gd babies' lungs can develop slower.

I hope all goes well for you! I'm in the same boat pretty much with gd and doctors looking to induce at about 38 weeks. However before they induce me they want to do amniocentesis to check my boys lungs. It's a scary thing but in the end you'll have your baby in your arms arms and nothing else will matter! :)

I have GD as well and had my first growth scan earlier this week. I'm actually hooked up to the NST machine as we speak. I am 34+1 and our son's estimated weight is 5 pounds 10 oz. They haven't spoke to me about inducing, but would definitely prefer that than for him to get too big. How far along are you ladies?

Currently I am 37 weeks and 3 days.   I will be 38 weeks and 1 day when they induce me.   My nst this morning was great,  but because of the other health factors he has chose to make my induction sooner.  They estimated my baby to be about 7 lbs this past Tuesday so she should be around 7.5 lbs at birth give or take.

Good luck everyone. I have GB as well and I am almost 30 weeks. At the beginning of this week I went for my ultra sound and doc appointment and baby is measuring 3lbs 11oz and I was measuring 31 1/2 weeks. So I am measuring 2 1/2 weeks over where I should be. I would rather they induce me early so baby isn't too big just worried about lungs being developed fully. But then again when my son was born (Not GB) he came 3 1/2 weeks early and he was fine. I am worried about getting another amnio though. I got one at the beginning of this pregnancy to check for down syndrome and I feel as though I would be pressing my luck.

I'm 34 weeks and 6 days I had my growth scan last week at 33 and 5 days and the boy was measuring 5 lbs 10 oz.. However just found out they want to do another scan at 36 weeks before we commit to amniocentesis at 38 to see if he evens out a bit
