Sick/ Mat leave

when you take sick leave before mat leave and your baby is born and you begin your mat leave is the % the same amount as your sick leave or do they take the % of what you were getting from your sick leave.? OR is the mat leave completely on its own ? what I want to know am I going to be paid the same amount on sick leave and mat leave or less when it switches over to mat leave.
And

Does sick leave automatically to when you are ready or do u have to apply ?

Mat leave is less.  Its a percentage of ur pay.  Depend where u live and ur company policy. But thats tipical. I'm currently on sick leave and get 100% of my pay, when I have my baby in 13 days it will switch to mat leave and I will be getting 55% from unemployment insurance for 1 yr.  My company don't pay mat leave but they will top me up to 100% for the first 6 weeks
