heating pad

Why does the heating pad make the pain on my back worse???

P.s. don't use icy hot pads that stick to your body. I had a miscarriage because of them with my first child.

My doctor told me to alternate between cold and hott. The cold does decrease sweeping and the heat relaxes the muscles. I'm 28w5d and it's been working for me.

Yes I would say use something cold!! I use an ice pack and sometimes icy hot it works wonders

a commin misunderstanding...heat actually increases swelling/inflamation...putting ice reduces swrllingn/inflammation.  that is why with injuries they rotate the two or just ice it. warn can be very helpful in short amounts b/c it aids in relaxation which can allie things to calm down but to much has a negative affect
