With my first child, the doc had to pop my water manually, it was very warm, very wet, and came out in a HUGE gush. With my 2nd child it popped on its own and was more like a small gush then just flowed out for a little while... nothing yet with this 3rd little one so I guess I'll have another story to tell in the next few weeks lol. What I remember just as well as the gush of water was how my belly got kinda tight after my water broke each time, and it almost felt like I'd lost 5 lbs, it was fantastic lol. Good luck on your 1st baby! :-)

Mine broke with my first while I was being prepped for my epidural, so I was sitting on the side of the bed hunched over a pillow with a nurse in front of me. I told the nurse that I felt like I might have to pee and that there was a lot of pressure, she told me not to worry she would help take care of it once I was set with the epidural because I may not be able to walk very soon. I remember telling her okay and hunching back over waiting, the pressure kept building a few moments later I looked at her and said never mind pretty sure my water just broke. Turns out it did and since I couldn't stand it was hilarious trying to help get a clean bedding under me.

When mine broke naturally at home I was asleep and felt this sort of pop and a gush of warm water..I knew I didn't pee cuz it kept coming out I had to put a towel between my legs..to have a dr do it is a lot of pressure and kind of uncomfortable but didn't hurt.

With my first pregnancy my water broke. I sat up in bed and just felt a rush of water. Not like I peed myself. For some people its only a little bit Of water but for me it was alot. I went to the bathroom and it just kept coming out. Soaked a pad in no time. It was so much when I got to the hospital and they moved me from the wheel chair to the bed they didnt even ask if I was sure it broke. Nurse looked a at me and said "yeah no doubt your water broke."
