losing hope

So I am about five weeks pregnant. Just before my period was supposed to be due   I started bleeding and it lasted for 5 days. I thought it was my period and it had just come early. A few days after it ended I felt the need to test again and lo and behold it was positive. Worried about the bleeding I called my ob and they had me do the 48 hour hcg count. My first number came back low at 34 but it did indeed double at the next draw. That was at 3 weeks 6 days and 4 weeks 1 day. Now this morning at 5 weeks exactly I started spotting again.   I just feel like this pregnancy is doomed, and I am just a ticking time bomb as to when I will miscarry. I haven't called my doctor yet, was planning on just monitoring ove r the weekend and possibly call on monday. I know I am still really early and they wouldnt be able to see anything on ultrasound. All I would probably get is another 48 hour. I am just so frustrated and upset. Sorry for the long post. Just need to get it out.

Don't worry hunny! Stress can cause your body to do weird things. We lost our twins (3rd pregnancy) at 8wks. So this time (#4) I was absolutely paranoid about any spotting of any kind.. I had a massive bleed at 12wks and we found out I had this thing called a hemotoma.. Which is basically a cyst full of blood inside ur uterus! I'm now 23wks no more bleeding at all! But I'm now diagnosed with placenta previa. Any blood during pregnancy is always scary it could be from so many things though. Most common cause is from sex..ur cervix is so rich with blood that when it gets irritated it can cause small amounts of blood to leak out. I would only worry if it was a lot of bright red blood. Brown blood is old so don't worry if you see that. If you were 7wks + I'd say go to emerg they can see a lot more around then. Most important thing to do is stay positive!! Take ur prenatals and stay hydrated. Take it easy. Easier said than done I know. Wishing u all the best!!

Thank you for your encouraging words. The blood I am experiencing is not bright red but it is not brown either. Sometimes pinkish sometimes rust colored. I know it can be nothing it just feels like one thing after another right now. Before I had my daughter (whom I had a hemotoma with) I had a miscarriage and this is pretty much how it went except I had the spotting first then a big bleed then nothing. Ended up needing a d&c because my body wouldnt miscarry on its own.
I dont believe sex is the cause in my case as I haven't had sex since tuesday I believe. Ugh its just so stressful. Why cant it be easy??? Lol
