mastitis

Just found out I have this infection, my midwife prescribed me some antibiotics. Did anyone successfully breastfeed while dealing with so much pain.

Thanks ladies.. this whole time I was thinking I didn't have enough milk supply. Does it always result in too much milk? I had a really high fever, and no there was no puss. I'll definitely do the shower thing. Thank you so much ladies! :) breastfeeding became really difficult. I'll keep trying

I had mastitis with my first,  omg so painful.  I feel for you.  ♡ ♡ ♡ I took very very hot showers and massaged my breats in the shower.  Don't be alarmed when it squirts! Cabbage leaves can decrease your milk supply.  I say anything warm to break up those clogged ducts.  Did they say if you had puss at all?  I had a 104° fever, the chills, I couldn't stop shaking,  I also fainted, my breast was red and very swollen.  I had no clue what I had. I hope you feel better soon! ♡ hugs!  ♡

Yes. Make sure the infected breast is empty as much as possible without neglecting the other. If you feel clogged ducts massage them. You can even take a massager or anything that gently vibrates and put on the lump to help break it up. Warm compresses help also. Good luck! BF is an amazing bonding experience and I hope you are able to go as long as you want.
