My mothers mom had me drinking mate and it works. It helped with me making more milk and it a little heavy my son slept better. He is almost two now and drinks mate with his great grandmother in the mornings.
Make sure you're drinking plenty of water!
Fenugreek. U can get it at Walmart also. Flaxseed. Kashi has really good breakfast bars with flax in them. Drink lots of water. Oatmeal works. But like the steel cut ones. Not the instant packs
I agree with Amanda all on what she said works
If you are going to do a beer then make sure it is a dark beer, also oatmeal and drinking raspberry leaf tea can help boost milk supply. There is also a breast milk tea out there as well.
Fenugreek capsules and blessed thisle capsules, you can find them both online or at your local herbal store, (Herb shop). I also use Mother's Milk, it's organic (supports a healthy lactation) and can be found at local grocery stores (my local grocery store is Kroger, they carry the tea), herbal stores, online and other stores. Eating oatmeal every morning or drinking it in a milk shake (lactation milk shake) which can be researched and is easy to make.
I've made lactation cookies out of brewers yeast and oatmeal.. not the instant stuff. It helped a little. Got the recipe online. Also has chocolate chips in it :)
Milky milk by the twins tia and tamera have all the herb combination to assist in milk production. You can find at maternity stores.
Fenugreek tea is really good, also hot chocolate. There's also something called mothers milk tea that is sold in target or babies r us. But the best thing to do is latch baby on as much as possible. The more the bab latches on the more milk your body will produce. My cousin is a lactation and thats what sh always recommends. Good luck.
mmm... never heard of the beer thing
I heard of a beer too. The yeast helps the milk come up.
Oatmeal or anything made with oats
I heard a single beer can help.
Alot of mommy's I know swear by Fenugreek drops (they're sold at health food stores)...I can't recall but while there was the benefit of increased milk production, I think I recall the cons/side effects deterring me from trying it...lol...I'm chicken little when it comes to meds and/or herbs, but, I do know that its definitely worked for my friends.
