My daughter hit her head the other night and had me so worried. Of course it was at bed time too so she was naturally already tired. She fell off the cough and smacked her head off of the coffee table on the way down and then smacked her head off the floor. She had a goose egg as well. We kept her up for an hour before she couldnt stay awake any longer and she slept with us that night. Is perfectly fine now. So I am sure little man is alright especially after being up for 4 hours afterwards and acting normal.

The forehead is the strongest part of the skull. As long as it bubbled out not in, your fine. No sleep for 4 hours after incident and always ask questions he will know the answers to. Like age, name, day etc. If he knows the answers he's fine. Make sure he's not vomiting or acting sick too. Other than that he should be fine :) worse case scenario, he might have a small concussion, highly doubt it though. But if your worried, wake him up every couple of hours. If he wakes up fine he's good :) ( nurse/ 2nd time mom)

Ugh... I can't remember what my daughter hit her head on but she had the biggest bump :( broke my heart. Did you keep him up for awhile? I would pry keep checking on him while he sleeps.

The softness of it is probably the swelling. Just keep a closer eye on him. If he has any behavioral changes talk him to the hospital. Usually its a good sign when there is a bump. Because if there is a dent then that's not good. Just put some ice on it.
