Ok so had scan today (going by my dates im 8weeks)  but the dr doing scan could only see a very small sack and said he couldnt see an embryo inside it. So he said its either 2 things....ive lost the baby and am yet to pass it or im wayyy earlier than i think i am. So hav to go bk in 2 weeks (so far away!!!) Anyone had this happen or heard of this before?? Really disappointed.

I had this happen in December. I was 8 weeks according to lmp, 5 weeks at the scan and miscarried a week later, but I had been spotting for a week previous to the scan. I got pregnant again by the end of February/ beginning March. Hoping for the best for you!

I had that in the pregnancy just before this one, should have been nearly 9 weeks, but was showing up as 6. Plus bleeding. I absolutely knew my dates were correct because of when I tested (neg 20 days into cycle, pos at 22 - about the earliest you could get a pos result) so I knew it was a miscarriage.

Pregnancy before that one I wasn't sure of my dates and ended up I was out by 2 weeks and had a perfectly healthy baby.

If you have some doubts as to when you conceived (ovulation can be as early as day 5 or as late as day 25, and tests show up positive 5 to 10 days after that, which gives room for a lot of error), and particularly if there's no bleeding or anything, then you've got much more hope than if you're sure of all your dates through testing. Also there's more hope if the scan was only 2 or so weeks off, rather than 3 or more (which happened in my miscarriage). Hoping you get happy  results :)

Just because your period is regular doesn't mean you ovulate regular. General rule is 12-14 days post start of period but no one absolutely follows that. I got pregnant 5 days before the start of my next period.

I'm also regular and I thought I was 8 weeks turns out I was only 5 weeks. You can't go by dates these days. Scans are much more reliable.

Happened to me and I was bleeding at the same time so me and all the midwives thought I was having a miscarriage. I was given a scan a week later to confirm and showed my baby girl in the sac. I think it might be too early to see your baby.

I thought I was around 11 or 12 weeks when I got my first ultrasound and I was only 8w6d I was way off so if I had gotten it done any sooner I probably would have had the same issue just hold off for two more weeks:)

It happened to both my sister and I a few years apart. With her she lost the embryo, and had to have a d&c. She got prefnant with her son 6 weeks latter. I was off on my dates. I have PCOS so my cycle isn't regular.
