I crocheted my first pair of booties today. I am so proud of myself they are like 10 sizes to big but they are complete. I am getting a new hook today to give it another try. I am way to excited about this I just had to share with someone.

That's awesome! I have a lot of respect for those who can crochet.....I can barely spell it let alone attempt it. My aunt crocheted my 4yr old son an awesome horse when he was born. It was so special because it is so unique and I knew a lot of time and love went into it. Keep it up!

huni_b, crochet is so much easier to learn and goes much faster than knitting. knitting will produce a nicer product, but I thought I'd throw that out there!

Congrats!  I find that using a size smaller hook than recommend for the yarn helps. Especially since I do not crochet tightly.

So far, I have two pairs of booties, a blanket,  a baby cocoon,  two hats and a pair of mittens done.

I also crocheted 3 blankets for other babies since everyone is pregnant this year it seems!

I love crocheting but it is so boring,  it puts me to sleep!

well done mama!!
I should take your example  :-)

I bought wool and knitting needles sometime back,  but I've not started yet. my husband says I shud start already, cuz I always complain about how bored I am at home all day long.

how did u learn? how did u know the patterns,  number of rows, etc?

Great job mama! I wish I had patience & talent to actually do so(: plus it has more personal meaning than just going out to the store & buying. Right on!
