That's what they give you when you are admitted into the hospital to be induced or when your in labor and they are helping you contract
I had it with my first one i was 4 days from my due date and i didnt ask the doctor just induced me which was the worst thing ive ever done my blood pressure went sky high and they put me on magnesium sulfate and turned me into a vegetable and my body could not labor itself so i had a emergancy c section but i am now on my third boy lol but ihave to have another c section go figure but hey its all worth it n the end if i could go back. Wouldve waited for it to start on its own
My bad dear. ..misread the question lol
With my second I was eight days overdue with my cervix still very closed, hard and absolutely no signs of labor so my doctor scheduled me to be induced. I went in at night and had something inserted overnight to soften and open my cervix. After the pitocin was started and my water broken labor and delivery took just over 2 hours. She was 8lbs 1oz, 19 3/4 in long.
I was induced almost 2 weeks over due with my first. Pitocin didn't work. Ended up with a c-section over 24 hours later.
I was induced two weeks ago (38+6). They inserted cervidil the night before and started me on pitocin the next morning. I was in labor for 13 hours and 24 mins. It took me 2.5 hours worth of pushing to deliver our 8 pounds and 15 ounces baby boy!
Take some caster oil, Google it :)
I haven't given up on naturally having my baby, and have never asked to be induced (given pitocin). My first two came on their own and to my surprise, my third one is being a little stubborn. My Dr and his office have a policy where they will not induce you until 41 weeks, unless medically necessary. My Dr scheduled for me to be induced the day I turn 41 weeks which is in a couple of days, but I didn't ask to be. Every Dr is different, so it wouldn't hurt to ask your Dr to be induced if you're full term.
