It's was probably more the tape then the actual meds or you would have had more of a breakout. Is it still there or bothersome at all?
I got the epidural and i had no bad reactions.
I haven't had an epidural. They gave me a spinal with my csection and I've had back pain around that spot ever since. A rash kind of sounds like it could be a reaction to the adhesive from the tape used to hold the tube in place. Did it go away and have you talked to your doctor about it?
When I had the epidural I got a terrible rash and I it he for hours it was annoying setimes your body reacts differently to it that is what they told me
Yes and I will never get one again they did mine to high so I seriously couldn't breath or talk and started fainting my BP dropped to like 80/60 they had to givee all kinds of meds to bringe back then o had the skin crawls so bad the next day my hole body was covers in scratch marks from my fingernails
It could've been the tape that they used to hold it in place. My skin is really sensitive when it comes to adhesives for some reason so even medical tape will break me out. However, with my first son, after my epidural, I had a knot where they had inserted the needle. It didn't occur with my second so I can only assume it was a reaction of some sort. Try using hydrocortisol (sp?)...it may help. I'd say if it spreads or gets worse/doesn't start to heal up, then ask your doc about it.
Thanks ladies for your responses. I forgot to add I got the epidural and A spinal cuz I ended up being taken back for a emergency c section. My rash is by where the did the epidural. My mom said it looks like shingles which scares the crap outa me cuz I don't want my son to get chickenpox. I'm going to go to the drs in the morning to see what it could be hopefully just a reaction.
I couldn't stop shaking and trembling when I had my first child. I wasn't even cold I had the shakes though it was weird
I got a rash all 3 times I got the epidural, but mine was from the adhesive tape, im allergic. @madukes89 I think the trembles are the body's response to the epidural I got them all 3 times ans probably will with my 4th
I also got the shakes really bad too when I got the epidural
If it's shingles then it would hurt really bad. Like you couldn't wear any thing that touches it. My mom had it on her arm 2 years ago. It was horrible
Also could of been a reaction to the iodine they clean your back with before epidural and spinal
I got a rash but was also from the tape. I even got a rash where my iv was taped to me. I also got the shakes from epidural but it was after having it for a really long time.
Thank you ladies so much for your responses. I think you ladies who said it was from the tape are right cuz I went to pharmacy today and showed pharmacist and they said it doesn't look like shingles and that it would hurt and it looks like a reaction to the tape I told them it doesn't hurt just itches really bad.
