Well my due date is tomorrow. I haven't lost my mucus plug or anything. I was checked on Wednesday and am not dilated at all. He said I may be starting to thin. He was gonna check me again today but I decided it wasn't necessary since I just got checked. If she doesn't make her appearance a week from today they are gonna check me and give me an ultrasound. I sure hope something happens soon!

With my first I was only checked when I started having contractions.  My dr dont ck until they need to bc it could cause infection (at least that was what the dr said but every dr is different) but I would still ask.  It can't hurt anything. Good luck

It depends on the midwife/doc I don't get checked until 41wks. I don't mind one bit because I think it's unnecessary.

Checked at 38 weeks but I had to ask, it doesn't hurt to request a check.

I was checked at 35 weeks and I'm already dilated 1.5 cm.

I know with my first I had mild contractions on and off for about a day and a half and then they were more frequent but never consistent and I went in and I was 6cm! If I had waited for them to be 3-5 minutes apart for a couple hours, I probably would have had him at home!

See that's what I feel. I just wanna know what's taking place so I know what kind of progress i'm making. This is my first and I hate feeling so confused!

With my first I was checked at 36 weeks and now just 3 years later on my second,I was told they don't check anymore because there's no point unless I'm in active labor! So frustrating! We should be able to ask if it's what we want! I'm going to try and ask on my appointment on Wednesday because I'll be 39 weeks 3 days!

You can ask. If you want to know I don't see why they would object. UIt isn't a necessary procedure so some doctors don't do them until labor starts or after 40 weeks.
