...seriously?!!! WHAT'S NEXT?!!!...

first & foremost, I had my first OB appointment today & the baby is perfectly fine!! I still have a due date of Oct. 24th (a day ahead of what I thought.. but I think that's b/c she assumed I had a 28 day cycle.. when mine was typically a 29 day cycle..) sooo I thought I was due Oct. 25th.. either way, I'll go with it! Oct. 24th it is!!! ((:

as some of you may know, I was diagnosed in the ER on March 25th with a [Subchorionic Hemorrhage].. she was able to see this today on the ultrasound, but she didn't seem too worried about it.. as she also said it was normal, happens all the time, we'll just keep an eye on it.

well, to now add to that, my OB also says that I have a very, very short cervix.. SERIOUSLY?! I've had 2 procedures done to my cervix (including the LEEP) & neither of those 2 doctors ever, ever mentioned my cervix being short. as a matter of fact, I asked my GYN just last year.. if/when I decided to have a baby, would these procedures affect my ability to carry a child, AND I asked how my cervix looked.. NOTHING was ever said about my cervix being short!!!!!

so now, my OB wants me to see a specialist JUST IN CASE to see if I can just keep an eye on it, need a stitch, or possibly take hormones.. she said she simply just isn't sure, and she'd rather let an expert advise me on the issue. I'm pissed.. I'm basically livid right now.. that with all I'm going through, all that my baby is going through, if I had known about this earlier, maybe I could have approached the issue WITHOUT having to deal with it on top of everything else!!! )):

she's assured me though that all is well, she's by my side through all of this, my fiancé is keeping me calm & stress-free, and Lord knows this baby is keeping me busy already!!! lol

just thought I'd update everyone.. my next appointment is April 24th (I'll be 13w6d) --- how likely am I to be able to find out the sex that day??? I'm just curious, but in no rush..

sorry so long, running off 4 hours of sleep.. I think I need a nap! thanks for reading, and I appreciate all of you amazing women, and thanks in advance for responses!! ❤

@TA283: THANK YOU so much, sorry so late.. I was finally able to take a nap! lol

and yes, I feel blessed to have this woman as an OB, she's extremely smart, funny, easy to talk to, and she appears to be God-fearing as well.. and we all know I need God more than anything right now! lol

I'm glad she took the approach she did, rather than risking mine or the baby's health.. I'd always heard some women OB'S were awful, but she's amazing! lol

please keep us in your prayerd & thank you again, soooo much!!! ♥

Geez sounds stressful! I'd be upset too.
At least this doctor let you know right up front and wants to get you to the best care possible asap. She sounds like a good, sensible OB.
Keep us updated and tell your fiancé we're all thinking of you guys :)

@bunnykissy thank you & I'm so excited! & I actually don't see the October forum on my phone? I typically use this on the actual website.. if you can get to a computer & still can't find it, it's on my profile under my communities I've joined! I hope you can find it!! let me know! I'll suggest a few things to the community manager too, I'm just a co-community leader.. ♥

ohhh wow! thank you SOOOO much!!! that makes me feel so much better about the situation!!

plus, I don't think the LEEP caused it b/c that particular GYN specifically told me he didn't have to remove much AT ALL! maybe I was just born with a short cervix, who knows lol

but I agree, maybe she's just not comfortable & it all turns out okay!! thank you so much for your input! I'll keep everyone updated! ((: ♥

I had a LEEP done years ago and my dr mentioned that we need to keep an eye on the length of my cervix during pregnancy.  At my appt last week she was able to measure it through the vaginal ultrasound. I am also due in October, so she will be measuring as we go. Maybe your dr isnt comfortable with the starting length so getting a specialist's opinion will help her give you the best care. Good luck!

ohh okay! so have you been diagnosed with an "incompetent cervix"? she didn't use those words with me, but that's what I've come across a lot..

all she said was it was very short.. praying it's not THAT short! geez..

thank you so much! & yeah, I HOPE mine is just a little shorter than what she's used to.. b/c I need to be able to work as long as possible, and I've read so many stories of women being put on strict bed rest, being hospitalized, getting the stitch.. ugh, it's just too much to think about right now! )):

my fiancé reassures me that it could not be anywhere near as bad as she thinks, and IF it is a little too short, maybe I can just get the progesterone shots rather than the stitch, so hopefully I won't be so limited!

thank you again!!! ((:

That's like my doctor my cervix is weakened and scarred from a surgery I had to have at 14 and I'm labeled high risk. She isn't used to it so she sent me to a special high risk clinic 1 hr away at the beginning to evaluate me and to let her know what to expect and how to handle it and I have to go back at 36 weeks to be reevaluated so they can give labor and delivery advice. Even though I could tell her myself. Thankfully though she has started listening to me and started checking my cervix 2 weeks ago because I always start dilating early and have to be monitored for premature labor. They didn't tell her that part even though I went there last pregnancy.

Sounds like she just wants to make sure your cervix isnt too short, it may just be smaller than she is used to seeing. My dr has never dealt with anyone with my Neuro condition so she sent me to a specialist to make sure I didnt need any further attention since I was pregnant. Try to calm down and I am glad to hear everything with baby is well :)
