Don't take a DM. You can actually Google the meds list that the docs use and determine what is safe for which trimester, but if you do try to be sparing in your dosage and be honest with yourself about any health problems you may have. I had a serious sinus infection at one point and couldn't go to a doctor; tried to suck it up but it only got worse. I ended up taking original Mucinex and Sudafed, with tylenol and nose spray, and little man is healthy as an ox. Keep your fluids way up while you're doing it, and see a doctor as soon as you can in case it's an infection (5 weeks of misery because I didn't go to one, and I think I got lucky with my babe). Hope you feel better!
Does anyone have more info on Robitussin DM? Im miserable and and bought robitussin but its DM and im getting mixed reviews on whether this one is safe or not to take?
The book from my doctor says Sudafed regular and 12 hour, Actifed, Tylenol Cold and Sinus, and Robitussin (Regular & DM). I took Sudafed because I was congested.
Some of them say not to take if you have blood pressure problems.
Robitussin is what my doctor recommended as long as it isn't robitussin dm
I took nothing. Everything has a risk just some not as much. Rest will help.
Robitussin. My doc only allows this and it made my cold go away.
Robitussin is the only cold meds we can take (as faras iI know). You can try tylenol but it's really for aches and pains so it probably wont do much. I do know they have liquid tylenol cold but it hasn't been added to the safe meds list yet for moms2be.
My doctor told me to take robatussin and that is was safe. I took it and an antibotic while I had a sinus infection and felt a ton better.
OK thanks ladies will try both
I do a warm mist. Nasal spray. Peppermint tea
