to dye or not to dye

I am very early on in my pregnancy (4 weeks). I am still learning a lot. One thing I am wondering is if I can dye my hair?

I'm a hairdresser and it's just a myth nothing enters into your blood stream that will harm the baby like one of the previous comments says as long as it's in a well ventilated area your fine. I color hair everyday and baby an I are just fine :) don't sweat it!!

I got mine done but highlighted not dyed. I asked several hairdressers, dr and researched prior. Supposedly dyeing gets on ur scalp where highlighting does not. It took the normal amount of time to do btw and looked just like normal. I did ask him to not go quite as close to my scalp as normal for my own peace of mind but yeah if you do go, maybe highlight not dye and make sure salon is ventilated well.

Obviously no one would leave it in for hours on end I'm just saying that's what you'd have to do for it to cause problems lol.

And.there is a time limit to ANY amount of hair dye being left on your head. Leaving it for hrs is just never.ok.

I'm a rn and its fine to do it only if you do the obvious and have it well ventilated.  With everything ive learned i dont think there's any reason You can't dye your hair even your doctor will  most likley say its ok. So ask your ob and see what they reccomend.. not ladies who aren't professionals :-)

Apparently its not a good idea in the first trimester. Also you'd need to leave it on for hours on end and use a copious amount for it to do anything anyways.
