*update* Using the restroom after giving birth

Today makes six day since I pushed the little princess out and it seems like everyday it hurts more to simply go pee. I avoid it at all costs. Like I will put it off as long as possible bcuz of how uncomfortable I will be during and after. Even sitting around I feel uncomfortable.  I have tried almost everything at this point. The Dermoplast which they sent me home with, worked for 2 days now nothing. Went and purchased a new bottle will try that today. The squirt bottle, which I maybe using wrong. Which hazel applied to both the area and my pad. And two different types of cremes. Unfortunately the pain seems to be intensifying.  Mind you I had no tearing, no stitches,  my skin simple stretched down there and causes like some scrapes similar to rug burn. Please help ladies with experience !!!! Super painful

With my first i tore really bad, and remember how painful it was to heal. I was not comfortable for at least three weeks. I would say since you had no tearing and are still so very uncomfortable, that it would be a good time to call the dr and get it checked out. Hope you feel better soon!

When I tore with my first my doctor gave me a spray that you can get OTC it's called  dermoplast and theres another one called lanacane and it numbs the area it was a real life saver. I would try it but I'd also let your doctor know just in case there is no other issue like infection or UTI

I didn't tear at all with my first similar experience just scars and what felt like a rug burn the squirt bottle works for me if it had really warm water in it and I would squirt it the whole time I use the bathroom especially after it was sore for a few weeks but it's way better than having stitches or c section so try a Lil of every thing see what makes you feel the best unfortunately it will be some discomfort until you heal

Yes it hurts bad. Both of my other births I used the squirt bottle with very warm water and pee then stop and pee with the hot water always squirting. Sometimes I'd refill the bottle for only one pee. I got this hurricane spray that numbed it which worked very well. Got it on my second birth. Ask your Dr they might know something better

It will stop eventually your vaginal is pretty much traumatized and it will take a bit of time to heal even when I had to have a c section with my 2nd it still hurt like hell to pee but the pain went away faster than when I did a vaginal for my first.

It sounds like you might have a bladder infection.  Can you go to your doctor and have a urine sample checked?

I'd go get checked. I had a utiand mine got worse like your explaining!  Contractions hurt to get checked. Utis are common after birth too so it's probably what's going on.

Make an urgent appointment to see your doctor.

If it is hurting to pee and the pain has got worse over the last few days, sounds highly likely that you have Cystitis (a bladder infection).  The infection could be anywhere along the urinary tract.

Whatever you do, do NOT hold your urine.  Even though it hurts, you must go and pee.  Make sure that you drink lots of water - at least 2 litres per day.  Don't drink more than  that unless your doctor says as having too much water can be just as dangerous as not enough.

To help ease the pain as you urinate (if you are not breastfeeding) drink a large glassful of water with a teaspoonful of Bicarbonate of Soda.  You can do this 1 ever hour for 3 hours only.  If you are breastfeeding ask your midwife or the doctor if this is OK for you to drink.

What this does is neutralises the acidity in the urine that is causing the pain and discomfort as you pee.  You can also drink freshly squeezed lemon juice with water as this too will neutralise the acidity in the urine.  Yes, lemons are naturally acidic, but once the juice enters the stomach the composition of it changes.

Don't forget to get to see your doctor urgently who will more than likely prescribe an antibiotic for you and also drink plain water as mentioned above.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.
