I'm from Utah and its a law that they give them Vitamin K right after birth to help with clotting. In case something happens surgery, a accidental drop or if they will be getting circumcised, babies cant clot there own blood for eight days so it starts it sooner. You can opt out but it requires paper working stating the hospital isn't at fault if something does happen. Then right before you leave the hospital they can start the series for hep b. That one is completely optional here.

Newborns aren't given vaccines at birth, though I'm in the UK so I don't know about anywhere else. But here for babies under 12 months we have them at 2, 3 and 4 months :)

I don't think they vaccinate right at birth. I know I've read they will do the whooping cough vaccine at 2 months. Don't know of any right at birth.
