Technically you aren't supposed to have them wearing a coat or snowsuit in the carseat because it can affect how the straps compress in an accident. I always just dressed them warmly and piled on the blankets! I did have a little snowsuit sack thing That I put him in if we were going to be outside like christmas tree shopping or soemthing
Your actually not supposed to put baby's on carseats with the buntings etc bc they dont fit right, and bc you run the risk of the overheating which can lead to sids. Best recommendation for veto cold weather with babies is your supposed to layer that way they not 'thick' but warm and fit in carseat correctly and use blankets. :-) a anal hooded jacket weird well though and u can use the little thin cotton caps underv the hood top keep ears, warm etc
My daughter was born in January coldest month in MN and I didn't buy a coat a friend of mine bought me one of those thick suits but I never used it bc it was so hard to fit her in the car seat without chAnging the seat belt adjustments so I just layered her really good and bought a car seat cover.sometimes you can't go over board either bc you will have your heater on in your car and don't want them to get hot or sweat bc it's bad once you take em out...I'm having this baby in February cold again just my luck but will do tje same just layer and the car seat cover.
My daughter is due Nov 4th, I bought a new born peacoat (Omg sooooo cute) and then a few outfits I've bought , mostly carters are three pieces including a zip up of some kind. I plan to be home bound with my little lady for the majority of 3 months, so it wasn't 100% necessary but I think its good to at least have one of each size up to 3/6 months.
Snow suits are fine to have, just remember you can't safely have a child in a car seat and a heavy coat/snow suit. You can get one of those warm fuzzy covers though that covers the seat.
I live in Chicago we have crazy winters. This will be my second winter baby I'm definitely buying him a snow suit.
I got a little Carters snow suit. I know it's not totally necessary but it's super soft and adorable.
Just layer baby with a thick over the toe onesies and pile on the blankets and baby should stay warm if ur only taking baby from house to the car. Once baby is a bit bigger u can get baby a thicker onesie deal with a hood.
