worried pregnancy in 6 week

Okay, at the doctors today, we calculated my due date. But because the last period that I had before I missed was irregular they decided to do an ultrasound. They didn't have a ultrasound tech to do it so my OBGYN performed the ultrasound. She was able to find the sac but no baby. So she scheduled me to come back in two weeks from today. She said she thought she saw something but wasn't sure. I am a little worried, but since she saw the sac I guess that is a good sign. Also, I am only 6 weeks. And I only had two glasses of water all day and when I went in they made me pee in a cup. So two hours later when it came to do my ultrasound my bladder was not full. Which I heard that it needed to be. Is that why she couldn't see the baby? Or is the baby not big enough to see yet? She think maybe I am not as far along as we thought. But I am a little worried, is everything okay? Has this happened to anyone else? p/s this was an abdominal ultrasound

Congrats on ur pregnancy.i don't know why doctors make pregnant ladies panic that too in early pregnancy.before 8 weeks only vaginal ultra sound shows up the baby.either they should do that otherwise they have to wait till 8 weeks.do not worry, you will hear heartbeat in ur next ultrasound.

No matter what we r Mommies, we r gonna worry. Although you are early. Unfortunately I'm gonna be straight with you..my third pregnancy after the first two healthy ones, they found the same thing on my 8 week ultrasound I had a sac but no baby. That was my first miscarriage. BUT PLEASE REMEMBER YOU ARE EARLY!!! And that is why ur going back in for a second ultrasound at 8weeks as their will be no missing it! I wish you the best of luck! And I'm sorry to be the only somewhat negative comment but I wish I had known that was possible too when it happened to me!

I've heard lots of women say they went in at 5-6 weeks only saw a sack and went back in a few weeks and saw a baby. With your last period being irregular it makes it even more likely it was just too early.

It's very hard to see anything at 6 weeks. Don't worry yourself. Congrats on your pregnancy!

Hey,  congrats on your pregnancy!!  Don't get too worried,  the truth is that an abdominal scan doesn't show everything at just 6 weeks,  I think you need to be at least 7 weeks to be able to see anything.  An internal scan should show everything.  The fact that there was a sac is great news though so hopefully you will see the baby and heartbeat at the next scan.  Xx
