18 DPO...BFN....AF onexpected day but very light

I am hoping someone can help me... I'll make this as short as i can.  I had a mc in Mar 2011 @ 6 weeks. the 1st month after mc af was 30 days. My cycles have always been 27-29 days. Since then, I have been 26 days. like clock work. (not on any bc) My last af Nov 15 (5days) was normal for me...day before af pinkish/brown cm... day 1 spot leading to light to med flow (w/ i'm guessing clots if that is the correct term every day of af even on spot days)..day 2 medium ..day 3 med to light day 4 light to spot and day 5 spot. This month we had sex on  Nov 24, 25, and 27. By judging cm i had ewcm on the 26/27 and had streatchy cm on the 28 /29. I don't chart bbt, but I do check cervix and have for a while. usually Day before af is due cervix is low and firm, as of last nite, its soft, mushy and feels like vaginal walls. did HPT on 14dpo and got BFN.... Af started on Mon 12/12,  (cervix was still high and soft not as mushy as last nite.) AF day 1 no spot just very light bleeding needed a little more than panty liner... day 2 very light to spot with clots....day three spot once at lunch and then only when wipe no clots.... today day 4 only when wipe. oh and bleeding on day 1 was a mix of dk red, red, maroon and pinkish(very random and a "surprise" everytime i went to bathroom) since day 2 bleeding has been more dark redish maroon to water down pink with streatchy cm

I had all pre af symptoms I usually get... sore/swollen bbs 1 week before, bloated, and queasy stomach. AF started and bbs not sore still alittle swollen, stil bloated and queasy off and on since o, (it always goes away with af) .  Thinking bout going to Dr, but wanted some advice/opinions as my Dr is 2 hours away and don't want to make trip if this is nothing.

If you got a negative on a pregnancy test that was properly administered (in other words, it was not taken too early in the month and it used first-morning urine) and you are having bleeding, even if the bleeding is light I would trust the test.  Light bleeding at the roughly proper time for a period is not something to drive 2 hours to see a doctor about.  Also, your cm and your cervix being mushy and stuff like that do not tell you much, unfortunately only a test can tell you.  By all means take more tests if you don't want to believe the BFN.  If you have a strange period next month also, or none, and it is not explained by pregnancy tests, then you might go see the doctor.

Thanks for your input. I think I was just second guessing my self because of the "strange" period this month.

Sometimes an ovarian cyst can cause a period to act a little odd.
