Am I pregnant?

Hi, so I haven't been taking my birth control very consistently and my boyfriend came inside me late on Friday night (like 1AM). I took Take Action (a form of Plan B) 30ish hours later. But my last period ended like a few days before Friday. I'm freaking out. I don't think I have any early pregnancy symptoms but I just don't know how to tell if the plan b worked and I really just can't be pregnant now. What do you guys think? What should I do? I bought a pregnancy test but I don't know when the result would be correct but it's driving me crazy. My boyfriend thinks that I'm freaking out over nothing and maybe I am but I just can't help it.

Well, if you missed days of taking your pill (as in skipped days), then your pill could be ineffective.  However, you took plan B so should be clear for pregnancy.  As long as you take before 72 hours after unprotected sex, you should prevent pregnancy.  However, let me just say this.  It's not finishing as the only concern for pregnancy when you have unprotected sex.  The penis emits small amounts of sperm at al times when thrusting inside of you.  So, even if he did not fully ejaculate other times but you had unprotected sex and he pulled out . . . you were still risking pregnancy.  Just FYI.  Anyway, back to plan B.  That is a big dose of hormones and that is how it works.  But after you take it, you have those hormones still circulating and they are going to affect you.  It is perfectly normal to be irregular for the next 2 to 3 months after you take Plan B.  This means you could have spotting, bleeding outside of your normal pattern, no period at all for a while.  You will not know when you next ovulate because of the plan B.  If you are not taking your pill on a regular basis or properly, then you need to make sure to use condoms until your cycle gets back on track. The pill PLUS Plan B means you have a ton of hormones that your body will react to and you are likely to have some hormonal symptoms (that might feel like PMS or what you hear it is like to be pregnant, breast tenderness, fatigue, etc.).  If you are still concerned you are pregnant, you can take a pregnancy test 2.5 weeks after you had unprotected sex for an accurate result.  good luck

It depends on how inconsistently you’ve been taking your birth control. Do you miss days often? After taking plan B you shouldn’t have any symptoms that show you it has worked. At least not that I know of. You were smart by taking that contraceptive though because if you are not consistent with your birth control it can most definitely lead to pregnancy. I don’t think you have anything to worry about girl. I don’t think you should take the pregnancy test until like a few days before your next period. I would grab a first response pregnant test as well because it can detect pregnancy much sooner than some other tests.
