Emergency Contraceptive Question

Little semen dropped on the outside of my vagina on april31 and i wiped it off as much as i could and washed too but im not sure how effective that was or if i got it all off. took ellaone 3h later because i was so afraid. period was/is expected between yesterday and today. last period was april 10. i had light pinkish discharge yesterday and so i took a pregnancy test last night which came out negative. i have bright reddish brownish discharge with some clot like black coming out today. did i test too early? could I be pregnant? is my period going to be late?  should i test again? should i even have any reason to worry since only a small amount of semen was outside my vagina? i'm so worried. when can i know for sure that everything is okay?

Hi there.  In all seriousness, you would not be able to get pregnant form drops of semen outside the vaginal area or on.  Conceiving a child comes from intercourse hon.  Penis inside the vagina.  Sperm are smart but not that smart as to know "hey, here's an opening, eggs insdie, let's go . . ."  They have to be pointed that way and directed.  So, you really did not risk pregnancy.  However, I like your thinking to be worried about risks for pregnancy and to be concerned about an unwanted pregnancy.  Buy some condoms and have them on hand in case the boy ever wants to put the penis inside of you and in the heat of the moment, you let him.  Okay?

So, you took emergency contraceptive.  Well, that is a big dose of hormones.  It does affect your system and will often make your next cycle or too irregular.  You are not pregnant ---  but your hormones are screwed up so you will most likely have weird periods this and probably your next cycle.  Try not to worry.  This is what Plan B does.  It upsets the applecart so a woman doesn't conceive.  The after affect is that your hormones are screwy for a while.  Periods being strange is part of that.  good luck
