Period 2 weeks early, implantation bleeding?

Hi, I'm 19 years old, sexually active as of last January.  My boyfriend and I have used condoms every single time we've had sex, and to my knowledge we have been using them properly (only using one per "sex act", proper application and removal, ect), and to my knowledge none of them have broken - or if they have, neither I nor my boyfriend have noticed.  Yesterday, immediately after my workout (I was still at the gym while this happened actually), I started bleeding, but I shouldn't get my period for another 2 weeks.  I only bled for one day, and the flow was like a light period (not spotting, blood was red not brown).  I should actually be ovulating right now.  I know that some times things like stress or the amount of hormones in foods or a flux in hormones can cause menstruation to be abnormal, so I chalked it up to that but I looked it up online just to be sure.  I saw that sometimes during pregnancy, the implantation of a fertilized egg into the uterine wall can cause some bleeding.  The last times that I had sex was right before I got my last period, and right after (Saturday the 24th of August and Sunday the 1st of September to be specific).  I've looked up implantation bleeding and from what I can tell, the likelihood of my situation being from implantation bleeding is small, but I know that I can't rule out pregnancy all together because I am sexually active and I know that slip-ups can happen.  I just wanted to hear from a medical professional whether or not this seems like implantation bleeding or if this couple possibly be from something else (hormone or stress related?), if I could still be pregnant, and how soon I should take a pregnancy test to be sure.  This is extremely concerning to me, I thought I was being careful, I have so much to lose, I'm a biomed major, I'm planning on going to PA school...I just need to know that this is a menstrual issue and that I'm not pregnant.

Hey, I don't know if this situation has resolved itself yet, but I thought I'd add my two cents in case it hasn't. It might be a good idea to start pinpointing your ovulation, so you can figure out if unusual bleeding could be implantation, or ovulatory spotting. I think both are light bleeding, and that ovulatory spotting is always bright red, not brown.

I think since you have been practicing safe sex that its probably just your hormones are off. If this continues you should speak to your doctor and you may need bcp to regulate your cycles. Try not to assume the worse right now. If you want to take a test for peace of mind that's ok but I don't think you are pregnant. If you test it should be atleast two weeks from when you tink you could have gotten pregnant or the first day of your missed period.

Um my friend had her period and then when she had another period two weeks later she took a pregnancy test and it was a faint positive.  She found out when she had an ultrasound that the two "periods" was her body trying to miscarry her baby
