Hey ladies, I've seen a lot of questions asking when to take a pregnancy test, or if it may have been too early. I just wanted to make a general post saying that if you think you're pregnant and you test early it can be a false result. There's a lot of tests out there that say you can test up to X many days early, well that is true. You can test the day after you ovulate, BUT you won't get an accurate result that early. Some women can test really early and get a positive test. It takes about 6-12 days after ovulation for the egg to implant in the uterine wall and another 24-48 hours after for it to give off a high enough level of HCG to show positive on a pregnancy test. It's always a good idea to wait until at least your period is due to test, since any time before may not be accurate. If you have a late period and your test is negative, you can wait a few days/week longer and test again or wait until your next period is due to see if you miss it. If you don't want to wait you can always see your doctor.
I'm not making this to make any of you stop asking quesitons, please continue asking away. That's what this forum is for, I just wanted to put out some information about pregnancy tests.
