What to do if negative results can often be false?

My periods are usually very regular and like clockwork but I'm now five days late which has never happened to me before.

I took an at home pregnancy test and it came out negative. How can I trust that it is correct when negative results can often be false?

I don't want to keep waiting and retesting because I wasn't trying to get pregnant. I had sex on a day where my period tracker said I wasn't ovulating and my partner didn't ejaculate inside me. However I am aware there could be a chance that pre-*** might have gotten me pregnant.

What can I do to be 100% certain I'm not pregnant.

Hi.  At home pregnancy tests are pretty accurate.  They are typically only wrong when used incorrectly, testing too early, read too soon, etc.  You should be able to get a positive test if pregnant 2.5 weeks after the sex you are worried about that may have gotten you pregnant.

You can get pregnant from the pull out method. So, wait until it is 2.5 weeks after the sex and then trust the negative test.

Most women will have a late period (or long cycle which it really is) from one time to another even if it is not their norm. It happens due to changes in routine, illness, stress, trauma, weight gain or loss, etc.

good luck
