Has anyone else gotten the quad or triple screen yet?

We just had our 16 week appt. today, we got to hear the heartbeat by doppler for the first time today, it was 149!  We also got the quad screen done today.  Not sure why we did it, I guess to know.  DH and I both agree that we will keep the baby even if something is wrong... What about anyone else, how do you guys feel about the sceening tests?  Also, are any of you rh neg?  I am and DH is rh + so I get to get rhogam...yeah!!! NOT, but I have heard that they have come out with a shot that they can give in the arm now, is this true has anyone gotten it yet?  How is everyone doing?  Anyone else having appts anytime soon?

I go back on the 4th for my 16 week check up.  We are planning to do the quad screen - not because it will cause us to change our minds about having / not having the baby, but because with some of the trisomy defects - - the baby can die at one day old... or three weeks old, etc.  I couldn't image 'finding' that out on the happy day of delivery.  But it is a personal, and difficult choice for people to make, especially because then it may lead you to do an amnio, which has it's risks (and inaccuracies).  Good luck to all.

Hi, We had our 16 week appointment friday week ago.. I am 17 weeks today :) We also got to hear our little one's heartbeat.. Music to our ears.. it was strong and 162bpm. Midwife checked that uterus was right size and in right place.. all as should be thank the Lord.  Re the triple/quad tests, we decided in the end not to get them.  We had a long discussion and thought if it came back a high risk figure eg 1in 30 then I would stress/ get anxious about it (probably for no reason in the end). And as we definately would not want the more risky tests- amnio etc done if high risk result, we decided there would be no benefit in us knowing what risk category we were in.  We will have faith and leave it in the Lord's hands. I hope and pray your risk category comes back as low.  x
