swollen vagina during second trimester

Hi ladies, hope some of you could help put my mind at rest.  I am 15 1/2 weeks pregnant and for last couple of weeks on and off I have had the feeling of heaviness/swelling in my vagina, most noticable after exercise/walking... almost like I am wearing a tampon.  I know experts say the vagina swells during pregnancy but I would like to hear if anyone has had this sensation as experts don't mention what a swollen vagina feels like! My doctor says it's normal but I need reassurance from other pregnant ladies...  Cannot thank God enough for giving us our little miracle and sometimes I worry about having another m/c when I feel any body change that I haven't read about.  Your replies would be much appreciated.  x

I'm about 14 weeks and 5 days...i have the same exact thing! It feels like a lump and it's very sore. I put ice on it to relieve some of the discomfort but i feel like it may have gotten worse...it just appeared out if nowhere. hopefully it goes away soon but i have an appointment at the doctor in 3 weeks...

Hey I am 17 weeks today and I've got all the symptioms of what you are saying the bit about it hurting while sitting and not being able to be intermate, I thought I would look into it as I have a male doctor and I don't feel confortable going to show him but it feels like a lump but is very sore so I'm guessing its swollen? Can anyone help me because I'm not sure and am very worried as this is my first child and I'm only young x

What type of infections do you mean?  I know you shouldn't ****** or use coloured toilet paper or biological washing powder in case leads to vaginal infection. I, like most pregnant women,  have lots of milky discharge but it has a mild smell and just body's way of preventing infection getting into the vagina. But if your discharge is smelly, itchy or dark yellow or green you should get it checked out as may be a yeast infection or other type..

Yep the dating scans in UK normally around 12/13 weeks.  I am 16 weeks and 2 dys :) My due date is April 3rd.  So next big scan for me will be the anomoly one at 20weeks.  Had a midwife appointment last friday and heard the heartbeat again.. made me cry.. so amazing and baby doing well- strong heartbeat at 162bpm. This will be our first child.. we had a m/c at 10 weeks in April so I have had quite a bit of anxiety this pregnancy for obvious reasons,  but Praise the Lord we are nearly half way and out of the real danger zone! x

I looked it up a while back too cause you know the first thing that pops in your head is miscarry or preterm lol It feels uncomfortable though, Do you know anything about infections? Mine are kinda weird.. Dating scan? Is that to determine due date? I got that at my 7 week marker and it came out April 25th. But im 99 percent sure i will be early. just hopefully not preterm which is what my chances are high for. Whens your due date? How many weeks are u? Im not too far from my halfway point. will be 14 weeks friday.

Thanks for reply debgunn.. Yes, I have done some research and it turns out that it is very common occurence during pregnancy.  Apparently the sensation comes from swollen veins due to extra blood in that area, especially after exercise.  My dr confirmed this... didn't look but said that's what it was.  So I am relaxed about it now.  Have you had your dating scan yet?  x

Im 13 weeks 2 days and been experiencing that for a week or 2 now on and off. Its also when just sitting. Sometimes its hard to be intimate with my husband cause he cant get it in! lol sorry for the detail. But i think its normal, i would talk to your doc and have him look at just to make sure.
