I am glad to hear that the placenta moved up for you!! :) I have done research which indicates that 90% of the marginal/partial form of previa will move up by term so I am fairly ok about it.. and it is all in the hands of God you know!! Although I dont have previa, by definition, the same result/monitoring is being done.. They dont know exactly what is coming off the placenta.. Sheesh.. ever heard of something like that??
Glad to hear from you! I had a low lying placenta also and my most recent scan revealed that it has moved up, so no more worries. It's good to hear that things are going good.
Hello ladies.. Long time no talk!!!! :) Hope everyone is well... I am 6 mos at this time!! Wow how time flies!! Now the newest issue is that the 20 week scan revealed that something was coming off of my placenta (? no further explanation given) that was marginally entering the cervix.. Now the report indicates negative for placenta previa but states I have low lying placenta with something coming off that is again marginally going into cervix.. So.. Jan 28th I have an ultrasound scheduled with perinatologist to make sure placenta moved.
Congrats on your Scan, thats fantastic news I have been looking out for your update.. its just the best thing ever isn't it when you see that little heatbeat flickering away :)
I am sorry to hear about the babies father..... that must be really hard for you. I am pleased you are here though so that we can continue to offer you support. Take care of you and lil boo-boo!!!
Hello all.. Congrats Tinkerbell!! So happy for you!! Got an update for everyone -
Finally went for another scan today... And I saw the heartbeat and the baby!! 9 weeks along, due date of 4/19/10. I am so excited, so thankful to God.. It has been quite a rollercoaster between the health and the relationship (or the now lack of one) with the father and I am so glad just to be able to focus on my lil boo-boo, heart just beatin away. Thank you all for your support!!
I was just wondering how you are getting on and if you have been referred for another scan yet?
I just wanted to give you some hope to hang on to... since my posting above we have been on an emotional rollercoaster. I started spotting a few days after posting and have been worried sick and thinking the worse.
We went for another U/S today 10 days from the last scan and am delighted to tell you that they saw a baby measuring 6 weeks 6 days and a heartbeat!! It just goes to show how things change in such a short time, we too went from an empty sac to seeing a viable pregnancy in 10 days even though I have been spotting/cramping!!
Good luck - I will look out for your updates.
Thanks for all your help, personal stories and encouragement. I really appreciate it and you have truly helped me to be calm in a very worrisome time.. The ER doc wasnt very helpful in this as he had put "threatened miscarriage" on my discharge paperwork. I did have another set of HCG tests that went from 12,582 on late Sun nite to 23,000+ on early Wed morning so here is hoping! It has been so crazy and it seems like no one is expecting this pregnancy to be viable and I dont know why! I have never had a miscarriage but I feel jinxed when all these people act like something is wrong when nothing is..
I had gone into my OB bc I was having spotting & cramping too..& they had done an internal & based on my LMP I would have been 6 weeks but they only saw a gestational sak..so I went back JUST 2 days later & there was a yok sak too! & my OB said he didnt think I was as far along so now I go back tomorrow (2 weeks later) to get another internal for a better due date..so just a few days matters alot..I wouldnt worry! Relax until you have another ultra sound!
I just had a very similar experience... my dates put me at just over 6 weeks at my scan.
Prior to falling pregnant I had been having very long cycles and not ovulating on the 'text book day 14' and more like CD20 so I suspected I may of conceived later in my cycle and been a week behind my dates.
The sonographer saw a 12mm sac measuring 5+ weeks with no sign of a fetal pole yolk sac heartbeat etc.... I was very upset as have seen that image in the past which has always meant the worse... HOWEVER. She completely reassured me that at this stage it is really rare to see anything in the sac and the scan was completely normal.
It is good news that the sac has developed which definately shows a pregnancy is forming and as I have had no major cramping or bleeding I should remain positive and assume all is going well... (easier said than done!!!)
I have been given a date to go back to be re-scanned in 2 weeks when they should see the embryo and a heartbeat if all is going to plan!!!
its really normal not to see anything that early usually around week 6-7 is when they can see more . as long as there was a sac there thats a good sign :) like kat said try to relaxe i know its hard but stressing is no good for you or your lil bean x good luck x
The first HCG was given by my PCP to confirm the urine test which was really really light positive first day of missed period. The OB then stated the result was a low number (16), I should be higher and wanted me to test again. Two days later, level 51. They stated at that point it should be normal and that I must have been really early in the preg.. They did the test yesterday because I went to the ER for light spotting. Oh and yes, I usually do have normal cycles.. 28 days lasting 5-6 days.
I wouldn't freak out. It's possible that the dates are off because you're only off by a few days. Especially if you had implantation bleeding on the 11th. That makes me think you are earlier than 6 weeks. Are your cycles normal?(28days) And it's really really early. Just wait another week, things will be more clear. Relax a bit=)
BTW, is there any particular reason they are doing all these tests and beta soooo early?
My first HCG test, which was performed the day of my missed period was 16 with 48 hours later being 51.
Oh no!!! The ER doctor said my gestational sac was 5 weeks! This could mean blighted ovum?
According to your LMP, you should be closer to 6 weeks. And your HCG levels are more compatible with a 6 week pregnancy that with a 5 week. It is not uncommon to measure off in the beginning, it usually catches up. Have another U/S done in about 4 or 5 days***
Im sorry for not providing the info
The first day of my last menstrual cycle was July 13.
I did have implantation bleeding approx August 11th.
Hmmm.... you didn't provide a lot of info but here goes:
When was your last menstrual cycle? This matters because if the docs are saying you're measuring 5w2d and this is correct according to you LMC, then your HCG is really high!(Twins maybe =))
I wouldn't be too concerned as long as there's no cramping and the spotting stopped.
If indeed you are 5w2d along, thats really early to try to see things. I would schedule an appt with your regular OB in about a week. Until then... take it easy and relax =)
