I agree that the biggest issue is not getting up and moving. Driving would hopefully give you more freedom to stop and get out of the car and move around, plus you can put you seat back far and do ankle pumps during the drive. Driving by car is OK, but I would not be 100% in your case because they have had you on bedrest?? I would talk to your Dr.

Please read up on deep vein thrombosis, then, and make an informed decision.  I had a friend who recently got it after a long plane ride when she was in her 39th month, and I am not exaggerating when I tell you it was life threatening.

Is it 4 hours there and 4 hours back?  The concern would be deep vein thrombosis if you are sitting for long periods of time.  Would you have any difficulty in asking (i.e., demanding) that you can get out every hour and walk for about ten minutes?  DVT can be very serious, and is somewhat more of a risk when pregnant than it is in general.
