No dilation :(

I'm 36+6 and today my doc checked my cervix, she said that my cervix felt soft but no dilation :( I was disappointed because I really thought I had. How many of you ladies are already dilated?

And yes we pay money here but you get excellent care in return. We are all due any day and since our doctors are checking us weekly that is why its the only subject going on these days. There are other forums you can follow that might be of more interest to you.

Checking the cervix for dilation is very important. It's how doctors are able to detect signs of preterm labor. In my case, my cervix was effacing at 26 weeks! I was immediately put on bedrest. Then at 33 weeks I started having contractions and after they checked, I was 4cm dilated! They had to stop my labor. So I'm very thankful for my American doctors who saw me every single week throughout my pregnancy and managed to get me to full term. I am now 38 weeks and almost 5cm dilated but still hanging in there.

Why am I on this app? Its a pregnancy app and oh look im pregnanct. Was quite happy with this app till iv read about woman self checking cervixes, trying to induce labour at 33 weeks ect. So like everyone else here I can have an oppinion. Just because its different from yours doesnt mean im wrong. We dont pay for healthcare in uk luckily, use do so thats maby why use get more checks done. Im not sitting takig abuse on this cos I have an oppinion. But hope yo god there is a uk app got pregnancy cos in the next few weeks again every god dam post will be about dilation and thinning and notging we here get to know. My due date gives me the adrenlainr and excitment I need not how my cervix is doing.

Because they want to... It's their cervix, they're excitement & to be honest without seeming rude myself... If it's that annoying for u why are u on the app? I've seen u post a few times basically telling people the same thing, why can't u wait? why do u care if ur dilated? we don't do this in the UK. Awesome... Let these moms share or anticipate their pregnancy however they would like & compare and look for support in the way this application was intended for. Again dialating doesn't mean they can't wait for their due date it gives them the adrenaline that the time is near and soon their precious baby will be here.

Comment was not racist. Nearly every post in this april 2015 forum is about cervix dilation and effacement. How do I know my babys comng...well I im 36 weeks have a big bump and a due date and thats all I know and its bettet that way cos if we were told here in uk our dilation at our midwife visits then that would clearly all be thats on our mind. Didnt want to be rude so apologies but seriously every single post is the same. I just dont get what happened to my baby will come when they are ready. Its that bad people are checkig their own cervix! Like why.
