birthing partner

hello I'm just wondering if anyone else being induced has been told their birthing partner has to leave at a certain time? my boyfriend will be in with me when I get induced in the morning but the midwife explained he has to leave at 10:30pm this is my first baby and I'm also quite young this has made me more nervous than I was now

Here you have a private room the entire time and you give birth in the same room you stay over night in. No moving around necessary.  I had someone with me at all times with my daughter. I would definitely ask why he has to leave.

That's weird. In the hospital I was at (in Canada) once you're induced you're put in a room by yourself. It's not until after labour that you're in a private, semiprivate or ward room. With The semiprivate and ward rooms SO or birthing partners cannot stay overnight.  But again that is after birth not during.

I think its because I'll be in a ward with 3 other woman while I'm being induced if things don'tprogress he has to leave ffor the night its so confusing, but I'd like to think of I get moved to my own room he will be able to stay all night, its a shame they only told me the day before induction too

I would be questioning it as well. I was induced last week to have my daughter and my husband never left my side. For over 24 hours when I was in Labour he was right there. Even my mom was there. As Leesha said if you end up with a csection they cannot be in the room until you ate prepped for surgery. My Over 24 hours of Labour last week ended in a csection

My husband was allowed to spend the night with me every night I was in the hospital. I would be questioning that!

I would be asking why. That doesn't sound normal...  My first was by csection and for those your partner cannot come into the room until you are prepped completely for the surgery. He pretty much walked in and sat down and then I was cut open.  I had to get the spinal shot while I was alone with a nurse I had just met.
I've never heard of anyone having to be alone for anything else.

That doesn't make sense why would they say he has to leave?
