When do they usually tell you how much your baby weights? I will be 30 weeks on Thursday. I have only gotten one ultrasound, I'm not even sure how she is positioned. My appointmens are always really short, the doctor pretty much says I'm fine and then I leave. He did just measure my stomach at this last appointment back month ago.

I think it depends on the Dr. My Dr. Does a quick ultrasound at every appointment for all his patients just to hear the heart and make sure fluid amount is good and snaps a few pics for us. I did tell him I'm worried that this baby is a lot bigger than my others so he is ordering a growth ultrasound for 34 weeks which will tell weight. He is very good about making sure the mom is comfortable.. he has always said if something feels a little off that I can just stop by and he'll do an ultrasound.

I am 31 weeks right now, found out my son's weight at 28 wks, but I think that ultrasound was due to me loosing a few pounds over job related stress. My OB is the same way about the short visits, heck I think the longest I have talked to her was maybe 5 minutes. Sometimes I worry whether or not I'm gaining and giving enough weight to my son, but I don't want to stress myself out thinking he will be too small.

I've had about 3 or 4 ultrasounds and this is my first pregnancy. Just did one yesturday but it was to check my AFI to make sure my amniotic fluid was normal because last appt my OB said it looked a little low and she just wanted to see more. Everything is normal though now. Will find out babies weight at 33 weeks when we try to do our 4d ultrasound :).

I'm the same way as you I'm almost 32 weeks this Thursday and only gotten two ultrasounds my last one was at 20 weeks the anatomy scan which everything was good I've had other appointments but it's to check the baby's heartbeat which is also good, I'm so happy :) but yet nervous :/ I have an appointment tomorrow... I asked my doctor when will they do another ultrasound and she said around 36 weeks to see if baby is facing down. Not a high risk pregnancy but I did have a mc with my first, that is why I'm so nervous/worried everything! :( :)

You can always try asking for another ultrasound. I've had about 5 my doctor sent me for so far. And I'm 29 weeks. She was keeping an eye on a cyst on my ovary and then I told her I was loosing weight not gaining so sent me to check on the baby's growth.

But I've also gone to a private ultrasound. It's expensive but it was a really nice ultrasound my aunt paid for as a babyshower gift. Got a stuffed animal that plays the baby's heart beat and it was a 3d ultrasound where they put it on a disk for me to keep. So if you wanted to get another one can always see if there is something like that in your area

Ya, J don't think my insurance would cover it unless the doctor needed it for medical reasons. I see all these women who get multiple ultrasounds and I didn't understand why I only get one. I didn't know it depends in if you're high risk or not, that makes sense though.

I am high risk also. I've had two regular ultrasounds and I've had one growth 3d ultrasound to check her growth because of me having GD. At 30 weeks she was 3 lbs 6 oz and in the 51%. I go back into weeks for another. You may be able to request a growth ultrasound, but unless it is approved by your doctor insurance will not cover it.

I am a high risk pregnancy and since i had a miscarriage prior i had to get a weekly cervical ultrasound until i was 24 weeks. My ultrasound nurse told me if you want to know how much your baby weighs or how long you can tell your ob you want to know and your dr can refer you for an appointment.. its a called a growth ultrasound

Unless you are high risk they don't check that often but now that you are getting close to the end they will see you more often and tell you an idea on weight.

It cut off my comment. I meant to say that stinks. I wish they told you more, but as long as she is healthy that's all that matters to me. And congratulations! I haven't met anyone with the same due date as me. April can't come soon enough.

Depends what medical practice you go to. Or high risk.  I am not high risk and get no other ultrasounds done,  around 38 weeks sometimes my Dr will just do an estimated guess on the babies weight. Unless there is issues and your fundus high and it running small my Dr office doesn't two ultrasounds
