are membrane sweeps any good?

Due today. Second baby. And nothing. Midwife in the morning and was going to ask for membrane sweep just dont know if they are effective ect???

Im 2cm dilated. Thick cervix 3/5 palable. I really dont want insuced again but looks like im gonna go the whole hog and then theyl induce me . :( iv tried evrifin to naturally bring on labour except castor oil as illegal in uk. And dnt even know wer I wud get some. X

Had it done this morning at half ten. Went for a two hour walk. Had bad period like pains for two hours and now abso nothing. I am losing mind!!! X

I got one done on my due date I was 2cms and doctor did a membrane sweep and I was in labor 12 hrs later it worked for me but I went and walked 4 hrs after it was done and then I drank the castol oil. It was very painful when it was done but afterwards contractions started so it was worth it for me. Hope it works for you !

I dont think midwfifes are allowed to give it in scotland till your 41 weeks with second baby...dnt know why. Gonna ask today just incase tho! X

It is a hit or a miss...I got one done and it did nothing for me. Be prepared it was way more uncomfortable than I thought it was going to be!

I was due yesterday.
Went to the doctor on Wednesday and I was 3 cm. She did a membrane sweep. Other than some false labour Wednesday and Thursday I haven't had anything.

Works for some people though. I would still ask for it to be done.
Just be ready for it. It hurts!

My due date is today too but no signs of my sweet pea coming, im praying that im atleast 1cm dilated by tomorrow so a membrane sweep can be performed on me.
