just an introduction

hi all, i've mostly been hanging out in the pregnancy 18-34 forum but thought it'd be nice to come and introduce myself here. I'm ruth, this pregnancy is due to failed contraception but i'm now happy about it. I'm 13 weeks and 3 days today...though my scan would say i'm 14 weeks and 4 days. i know it's wrong as my scans contradict themselves and i have the luxury of knowing exactly when my last af was and exactly when i've conceived. i've had 3 successful pregnancies with no major problems and have never miscarried. this pregnancy, however, is not clever. there is bleeding in and under the amniotic sac and it is a threatened miscarriage. dr. has told me with the stage i'm at now it's more likely that baby willl be ok than that i'll miscarry. so, fingers crossed.

i guess baby hsa strong heartbeat as the hospital detected it at eleven weeks which is considered very early. I'm more worried about the bleeding inside the sac, i've seen baby trampolining on it during a scan and surely that won't help

Oh I think you are going to be okay!  If you make it that far.   Do you know the size of the fetus is at this point.

Here's how the baby should measure don't worry about the U/S.  I'm not sure that they are always dating properly.  Mine was off too by 4 days.  

At 13w0d  CRL should be 6.5 cm
At 13w5d CRL should be 7.4 cm
At 14w0d CRL should be 7.9 cm

I assume your baby has a stong HB otherwise you wouldn't have made it this far.  

I have the bleed near my uterus too.  I think will be okay.  Ther eis a controversial formula on the size of it to see if m/c will occur.  I'm sure you can look that up on the internet.  I've seen it once.   I've got that bleed too and I understand it's pretty common.  I haven't had spotting however.

thanks sweetie. had heartbeat checked yesterday and it was fine. my midwife's really nice and has agreed to check once a week.
