Ugh, I have been out in the sun a few times over the past month (wearing sunscreen on my face) and now I too have the skin blotches on my checks.  They look like big freckles.  Plus I have more freckles out this year than ever before.  I tan super easy too.  Another weekend of sun ahead of me (memorial day weekend) but I just bought even higher sunblock.  Stay hydrated everyone!!!

I noticed since I've been pregnant that I seem to burn a little quicker than usual. Be sure to put sun screen even if just a 15 or 30 on your face and shoulders.

I can't wait for the pools to open! I can't believe it's going to be 90 today and we don't have a pool to go sit in yet!

Ugh, i have the "mask of pregnancy" thing already! This is pregnancy #4, and I've NEVER had it before.  I *have* been in the sun a good bit, with T-ball and Little League games, but seriously-- it's only March!!

It is mostly on my nose, all splotchy patches of brown- yuck!

Yup....I agree with all of them! My first baby (she's almost 19 now) was born in August, and I was young and into the whole tanning thing. I ended up with the "mask of pregnancy" thing...splotchy across my nose and cheeks. It wasn't cool. LOL. I don't think there's anything wrong with BEING in the sun...but don't bake yourself, and use lots of sunscreen and drink lots of water. We live in a hot climate and have a pool, and I'm definately planning on spending a LOT of time in it before this baby is born! :-)

When they say no tanning at all, that means the tanning booth.  They say that some sun is really good in the third trimester as long as your not sweating to death LOL!

I agree! Just stay hydrated and make sure you go inside when you are starting to feel drained from the sun!! I to would also like to be a nice shade of brown before my little man pops out!!!

By the way how do you get an even tan, if you cannot lay on your belly?? I surely do not want the front half brown and the back half white!!! he he he That would be a sight to see!!!!

You dont have to avoid the sun completly just watch for signs of overheating. Staying in the pool is great and will keep you cool. Wear sunscreen though. Last year I had my first summer baby and tried like heck to get a tan. I ended up with patches of brown all over my face. A condition called "the mask of pregnancy" I had never heard of it before and I know not all pregnant woman get it. Sun tends to make it worse if it does happen so keep up with the sunscreen.
