1st pelvic exam...OUCH!!

I had my first pelvic exam at 36 weeks. Holy moly did that hurt. I am 1cm dilated and 50%effaced. Is he coming early? Did anyone experience cramping off and on after exam throughout the day? It hurts so bad I want to cry!!

I was checked 2 times now and it didn't hurt me at all. I was shocked. With my son it was awful. If I'm dilated and effaced I'm having a feeling it will hurt. I was only soft last week.

When I was pregnant with my first son. 18 years ago I was very uncertain of getting the epidural.  Scared of that needle going in my back. All the way up until the last month when my doc did the pelvic exams. Holy shiznut.. After that I was like oh hell yes I'm getting that epidural. This is my 3rd and last pregnancy and I'll be getting the epidural. The needle in your back is nothing compared to that pain. Thank you to the anesthesiologists

I cramp and bleed every time. No it doesn't mean labor is near well it could.you never know when your labor is going to start really.. But I'm getting induced at 1-2 cm and 50% effaced...
