FTM Due August 29

I honestly have tried everything to help me open and nothing helped. I want my baby boy out so bad but I don't want to get induced. I have an appointment today and I'm not sure what my doctor will tell me since next week I'll be at 40 weeks. Do you think he will schedule me to be induced? I'm also worried of having a big baby doctor said he doesn't want a big baby but he hasn't checked or gave me any weight on the baby for a couple weeks now.

I gave birth at 40w6d and my baby was 7.4lb, a perfect healthy birth weight, definitely not to heavy either.

And itsmrsp is right, the trickiest part to get out is the baby's head, and that size has nothing to do with weight but genes. Once the head is out the rest comes practicly on it's own. If your gyn isn't concerned, you shouldn't be either. If there is no medical reason to induce, let your baby come natural, that's better for you and your baby. And going overdue a few days is perfectly normal, specially 1st baby and nothing to be concerned about.

On progress: that can go really fast to. I walked around 2 weeks with 1 cm dilation, i went in after 2 days of braxton hicks and 1hr of real contactions and had 3 cm (apparently they were ready to send me back home, if my water hadn't broken lol). 3hrs later i was 7cm, 1hr after 10cm and 40 min after i had my baby. Just try relax, i did and i had a speedy birth for a ftm lol

U still got time I totally understand u when I was getting close to have my baby girl I was so anxious about having her and not wanting to get induce my water broke on my due date and never got contractions they waited and since they didn't come on their own the had to induce me with medicine to get contractions so maybe just wait a little bit ..

Sometimes we have to go with the recommendations of the medical professionals to keep mum and baby safe. The baby may be gaining more fat but I'm sure his head isn't growing a whole lot and that's the trickiest part to get out. Talk to your Doctor about your concerns, as long as there are no pressing medical issues, they might be happy for you to wait a bit longer. It's a tough time! I'm due 28th and lots of pain/head engaging lower, even with that my Obstetrician talks of an induction at 40 +7-10 days. It's not what I want but this baby is not coming anytime soon. Good luck with your appointment.

I just had mine yesterday 9 days over due, he waited until he was 5 days over due to open up to even a 1 cm, and then yesterday when I went into the hospital I was 1.5 and in 12 hours he was here, I had my induction set for tomorrow, but he decided to come completely on his own instead got me

Your body might progress faster than you think. With my first I had no symptoms of labor or dialation or anything until one morning I started having light cramping when I went into my doctors later that day they told me I was 4cm and to head over to the hospital I had my son the next morning. I was surprised I thought I would get braxon hicks or something but I didn't have any signs or discomfort before actual labor started.

Yes that true. It just uhh I wish I could open by myself and go into labor in my own soon.
I've just recently been hearing about girls having to big of a baby and how the baby gets hurt or something bad happens it just worries me and makes me more nervous then I already am

I think you can refuse induction up to 42 weeks, what's 2 more weeks of waiting right? You've already done 40.
Well babies slow down a bit on how much they grow starting week 39, and there's nothing wrong with big babies, they're just as hard to push out.
