diabetes

I'm 29 weeks pregnant with my first child. I've just been told I've got gestational diabetes. Does anyone else have this and how did you control it? And what sort of things happen now? I haven't been told anything and I don't have an appointment with the clinic for a while yet. Thanks

Yeah been for my appointment yesterday and got my kit. Asked her if I was over weight and that why I have it and she said doesn't matter if you are or aren't just a case of being unlucky. Just waiting to see the dietician now and got told the same about induction

I found out yesterday that I am. I see the dietitian on Tuesday waiting for my insurance to approve my monitor and stuff. I was high risk of getting it bbecause I had a big baby before but no high sugar levels and diabetes runs in the family I'm black and slightly over weight so I just got it from all sides. They scheduled me another appointment for ultra sound in a month to check her growth.

I just found out I had it yesterday. I'm 32 weeks. I had to go get a monitor and test strips and I have a class on diabetes on Monday. I had an appointment today and she said that of I hadn't had him by 39 weeks is be induced.

I have Gestational diabetes as well I have had it since 26 weeks I'm now 30 weeks in the beginning I had to see a dietitian and have to test test myself 4 times a day for my glucose levels I was doing really well for a while I lost weight but now baby is getting bigger and hard for me to control my sugar I've done everything I can and doc said they will start me on insulin next week just once a day but wish you all the best if you have a question let me know the biggest risk is the baby tends to be big so it's good to watch what you eat
