It's not the case of risk our babies health or we suffer with withdrawal symptoms they tell you to cut back to 1 a day and not stop as 1. It causes too much stress to stop and we all know stress is not good. 2. The baby has got used to a fixed amount of oxygen so when the mother stops and they get more oxygen it's a shock to the system. I'm personally not fussed either way. Everyone needs to make their own decisions. I used to smoke about 15 a day and had 1 a day however I saw the babies heart beat yesterday on an early scan and made me quit
Its funny how our generation is so against smoking while pregnant. Dont get me wrong i dont agree with it and quit cold turkey. But our parents smoked while they were pregnant and around us as young kids and im sure a lot of us turned out ok.
Wow. Really? Never heard that before. So they would rather u risk babies health than have you go thru withdrawls?
Most doctors will recommend not quitting smoking if you're a heavy enough smoker because the withdrawal are so hard on the body. With one of my pregnancies where I was a heavy smoker and had an unplanned pregnancy my doctor created a slow weaning off schedule. So I think it is best to talk to your doctor.
Yes. I feel the same way.
I stopped smoking the moment I found out I was pregnant, the way I see it is that the things I do with my body now directly effect another person. I wouldn't put a cigarette in my baby's mouth nor wine in his/her bottle so I've stopped everything.
Like you it'd be a lie if I said I didn't miss my weekend glass of wine but it's not just about me anymore.
