maternity leave

when is everyone going on maternity leave? I'm 31 weeks & my days are numbered. I hate when people say "well I work up til I have my baby" well, everyone's pregnancy is different & everything is going physically wrong with me. my work only has 6 weeks maternity leave so I'm trying to go as far as my body will allow me

I'm 31 week and my doctor want me to go on maternity leave early because i'm going through  preterm labor but I told her know its to early and I'm not willing to go off until August 1 but she said know I was pushing it to close to my due date August 18 and she don't think I'll make it so she gave me July 18 to stop working but if I keep having contraction and low abdominal pain she's taking me off early.

My work doesn't offer me maternity leave since I'm not permanent with the company yet. I'm leaving at 36 weeks since its a very physical job and a very exhausting one. I'm not sure when I'll come back or if ill return.

My work doesn't give any leave but I'm still planning on taking 11 weeks. I'm due August 8th and plan on starting leave on August 1st, provided she didn't chime early.

I'm 29wk1d and was put on admin duty a few weeks ago and then my hours were reduced to about 19 a week so I gave my notice because 19 hours a week won't pay bills or childcare for my other 3 children thru the summer. I'm being a SAHM for now and we will see how it works out.

I wish I could go now but I'm going to try and tough out the next 6 weeks. At that time I will be 36 weeks on July 14.

My due date is my first day on maternity leave however I've had an uneventful pregnancy besides some pelvic girdle pain so far and my job is for the most part a low stress desk job.

I think it depends on the job you have as to when you go on maternity leave.  I live in Canada so I get a year off of work for maternity leave which is nice. I'm 30 weeks but can't work anymore because the job I have is too physically demanding so I applied for my medical employment insurance and then will be receiving my maternity employment insurance when the baby comes. Every pregnancy is different. Plus it's a lot easier for someone to sit at a desk all day and be pregnant than walk around 8 hours a day doing physical care on people haha. Just depends on the person and job :)

In California through the state paying for maturnity leave we can only leave 4 weeks before at 36 weeks and we get 6 weeks full pay after and 6 weeks pay at 60%. Due to my job and needing coverage I'm leaving at 36 weeks. I would leave sooner because I know ill be pretty bored during leave maybe...

I was pulled out of work as of today (30w+2) because I have pneumonia and my immune system is shot.  My PLAN was to go out at the end of June since I'm a teacher and that marks the end of the school year.  Guess my plans didn't pan out.  Thanks a lot, pneumonia.  *sigh*

I'm not starting my maternity leave until I'm 36 weeks. If it were up to me then it would be at 34 weeks. I haven't had any complications, so doctor won't take me off sooner. My work us giving me 10 weeks maternity leave. I'm taking 4 before my dur date and 6 after.
