shower drama..help!

How can I nicely tell my family that I want them to change my shower? From the beginning I have asked them 2 things, don't try to surprise me and I want it at my house. I found out today that invite states that it is a surprise and its not at my house. I had the same issue with my bridal shower. Although it was nice, it was not what I wanted and I find myself in the same dilemma but now I am pissed. I'm not a fan of restaurant showers because the guests just sit there for 4 hours and you barely interact with them. Also, I am going to be very pregnant and want to be comfortable in my own home. Not to mention that its about a quarter of the price to have it at my house than it would be to pay $20/person at a restaurant. Is there anyway out of this?

I say be happy that they want to throw you a baby shower! Many women don't even get one. Like you said it is only for a couple of hours. You can cope with that. Don't worry about the cost. You won't be paying for it!

Talk to them and try see if they can change it. If you explain your reasons like you did here, they should be willing to change it.
