Needing support!

My doctor told me that I'm about 4-6 weeks pregnant. She couldn't give me a for sure estimate. Well she gave me an ultrasound and said that she couldn't see a heart beat. And thought I might be having a miscarriage. She also saw little flecks I guess, and a little bit of blood in the sack. I did some research and I found that some women don't see a heart beat until their like 8-10 weeks pregnant. My mother didn't see a heart beat with any of her kids untill she was about 9 weeks pregnant. And she's had 5 kids lol! Is there someway that my doctor might be mistaken?

any new news on this???????  I had vag-u/s done at 6 weeks.....my dr also did not find a heartbeat but she said its normal for it not to read that early sometimes.....she also saw a small blood spot but she said not to worry it was small.......honestly I don't even know what that means but she has me scheduled for another u/s 5/1 so I'm hoping I'm ok till then and well after also but I think its really early to see anything from what my Dr. said she was lucky to see anything she said I wasnt even a bean yet! I was still a rice at that time!

Lets think positive! I would ask about your hormone levels to make sure they are in check and then go back in a week or so and have another sono.  Its very possible that you may have a strong heartbeat on your "bean"!! My best friend had a dr tell her that she was going to miscarry for sure her baby and 4 years later Im here to tell you that kiddo is here and healthy!! So I know how hard it is to stay positive....but have faith and keep your head up.

Well they took blood and a urine test and gave me a intravaginal ultrasound. They said that I was 4-6 weeks pregnant. And she should see the heart beat by 6 weeks. And I only have a 1% chance of not having a miscarriage.
I know lots of women who have told me that they didn't see one until about 8-10 weeks.
My mom didn't see one with me untill she was like 8-9weeks.
I think I should switch docs.
Thanks everyone for the support

Try to hang in there and hope for the best. Did they check your HCG numbers or your progesterone or any other tests? Here in the ER (I'm a nurse here) we tell people that by that time you should be able to see a yolk sac but not necessarily a fetal pole. Good luck - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Hello just wanted to inform you though all through the heart starts beating in the 5th week most ultrasounds (even intravaginal ones) don't pick it up until after 6 weeks. I would hold out hope. I got an ultrasound when I was pregnant at 5w6d and there was no heartbeat and at my repeat ultrasound at 6w1d there was.

hmmm everything i read says that the heart starts beating around wk 5. And you can see it on an intravaginal sono I saw mine at 5 wks 2 days. On a reg sono over the tummy it may take 8-10wks before you can see it. I would request an intravaginal sono it will give a much clearer pic of what is happening.  And if there is clear bleeding in the sac or not.

Im curious why she cant tell you how far along you are???? if you got a sono they can measure and tell you where you are.....
