Addison Leigh Lowery is here!
Well we all know I have been sick! I was checked into the hopital Wednesday morning. My right lung was almost completely closed off and my oxygen level was low. They suspected H1N1, started me on Tamiflu, started me on different antibiotics and steroids through the IV. I was hooked up to oxygen and they started monitoring little Addison. Friday night the oncall doctor was making rounds and we discovered Addison was in distress and I was not getting any better. They did an ultrasound and she was breeched. The nurse walks in and says ok we are doing a c-section with in the hour. I have never been so scared in my entire life! Poor DH was a nervous wreck. They take me back about 10 and she was born at 10:34 pm. It was amazing! Because of the steroids I was on to help my lungs our poor little baby now has a glucose problem. She is hooked up to a sugar water IV and they had to put a tube in her nose to continuously feed her through her stomache. Good news is this afternoon they could take her tube out of her nose and her glucose tests are staying somewhat stable but are still alittle low. They have to take blood every two hours but things seem to be going better. I have only got to hold her 3 times and have to wear a mask...it is so hard not being able to just take her and hold her. Now I am getting better and stronger so will be able to hold her much more, especially with her tubes being gone. DH gets to spend time with her in the nursery. She is so beautiful. She was born Friday the 13th at 37 weeks 2 days, weight 6lbs 10oz, and 19 inches long. Just wanted to let you all know. Please keep us in your prayers! Hopefully we will continue to get better and get to go home soon.
