UTI's & pregnancy?

Hey ladies, maybe this is tmi, but I've never had a uti and was wondering if anyone has had one while pregnant and what they did to help it. Starting last night and all today whenever I pee, right at the end it hurts and then when I wipe it's usually pink; I know it's coming from my urethra, not the other one because it's only after I pee that I see the pink blood and only when I wipe.  I have my first appt on Tuesday so I'm going to ask then, but if anyone has any ideas/tips on how to help it while I wait, that'd help a lot! thanks! :)

hello, hope your apt went well, UTI's wow am i one prone to those if ya have one they give you a antibiotic called macrobid (bumble bee pill-yellow/black) which is safe in pregnancy to take. i have to take it the full 9 months cause my UTI's wont go away, some dr's tell you a UTI is common to get while pregnant due to the increase hormone and constante urge to pee. it's good you noticed it right away cause they can cause problems. such as premature labor. and they are just not fun. cranberry juice helps alot to flush the system always a good thing to drink and straght cranberry is the best not mised with something else. or there are cranberry capsils if you dont like the taset of the juice. good luck and hope this helps anyone else who wonders the same thing,

thanks! I've been drinking pom/cran juice, it still hurts but not as bad, & there's no more pink when I wipe, so hopefully it's getting better! :)

I found out after my first OB appointment that I had a UTI.  I had no idea.  They caught it very early.  They actually gave me an antibiotic for it (I can't remember the name of it).  Cranberry juice is good, as well as just drinking lots and lots of water.  Good luck to you!
