Steroid Shots

Hello! The last time I posted something was when I told you all about finding out at my 20 week ultrasound that I had dilated 4 cm and funneling. It was too late for me to get cerclage. So I was diagnosed with incompetent cervix and sent home on strict bedrest. Well so far GOD is stil holding my baby up and I'll be 24 weeks on the 12th(Thursday). YAY* I go in tomorrow to get steroid shots for my little girls lungs. I'm a little scared and don't know what to expect since this is my first child. Is there anyone out there thats been through this? And did it help? How soon did u have your baby after the shots? Sorry about all of the ???'s, I'm just really trying to be hopeful for my baby girl's outcome. Thanks girl!

I did have the steroid shots to advance lung development, but that didn't start until around 30 weeks of my pg and my daughter was born at 37 weeks.  She didn't have any breathing issues though.  I know that wasn't much help, sorry.  I wish you all the best care and health for your developing baby!

I personally have never had this happen. But I wanted to wish you all the luck and many blessing that this baby girl stays high and mommy dry. The longer she waits till she is more developed, the better chances you both have! Staying on bedrest and horizontal has got to be tough- but it just proves what a mommy will do to protect her child, born or not.

Hugs to you!! Good Luck Mama, you'll be a great one!!
