elephant baby?

I just went to the dr.s today and she tells me that I'm measuring 2 and 1/2 weeks larger than I should! This is my 4th pregnancy and with my other three I always measured 1 or 2 weeks small. I'm positive of my date of conception so now I'm getting scared. My husband says that I'm going to have an elephant baby, lol. I'm worried that our not so little, little girl isn't going to be able to born vaginally. Has anyone else measured this much bigger than they were supposed to be? I'm hoping that I'll just deliver early.

I have measured big with all of my pregnancies though I have to admit I am a little freaked out this time. I am 30 weeks and measuring 35 -- a full 5 weeks ahead. My first was 9lb7oz at 38 1/2 weeks gestation , second was delivered at 38 weeks and she was 8lb11oz. I can only imagine how big this baby is going to be at 39 weeks 1 day when I have my c section. I swear I am going to give birth to a toddler.

Dont worry. I delivered 10p 5oz baby vaginally and I wasnt even measuring big throughout the pregnancy. I was told to expect 7-8pounds.  I did gain 30 pounds. I am measuring normally this time round  and I am hoping for a nice 9p girl.

Sometimes depending on how they're laying in there it can throw off the measurements.

Thanks for the encouraging messages. It puts my mind at ease. My last 3 pregnancies have been so easy I was starting to worry that this labour was going to be payback, lol.

I would agree with both girls a head of me... I was told my first child would be easily 7 1/2 - 8lbs, well I had him 6days late, gained 30lbs and he was only 6lbs 14oz. I was never told I measure larger persay- but the est was via u/s and feeling the babys position.

I measured big with my son he was 6lbs. 15 oz.  Then with my daughter I measured small and they kept saying she wouldn't be more than 7 pounds.  She was 7lbs 12 oz.  This one, the ultrasound had him 1.5-2 weeks bigger than he should be, but I am measuring (currently) right on.  So, who knows, I've learned not to put too much trust into anything.

measurements are often wrong and generally your body won't allow a baby to grow so big she can't come out :)
so i hope since mine has been measuring huge since the beginning and since she's an IVF baby we are also certain of our due date...
